چکیده
Background: One of the recommended methods for reducing aerosol contamination during daily regular usage high-speed turbine and ultrasonic scaling is use preprocedural mouth rinse. Several agents have been investigated as a Chlorhexidine significantly reduce viable microbial content when used Studies shown that cetylpridinum chloride (CPC) mouthwash equally effective chlorhexidine in plaque gingivitis. This study compared effect 0.07% CPC to 0.2% gluconate (CHX) rinses by turbine. Materials Methods: 36 patients were divided into three groups based on rinse (0.2% CHX, distilled water). Conservative treatment was done 20 min. (10 min before rinsing 10 after rinsing) same closed operatory all keeping blood agar plates opened at standardized locations (patient chest, dentist chest 12-inch from patient mouth). Colony forming units (CFUs) counted, incubation 37°C 48 hr. Statistical analysis with (SPSS version 21(. Results: showed two antiseptic mouthwashes reduced bacterial colony samples locations. found be superior pre-procedurally aerolized bacteria. The number CFUs higher patient’s location other Conclusion: CHX pre-procedural CFU count dental using

Titanium plates treated in vitro with a mouthwash containing amine fluoride (100 ppm F-) and another containing zinc-substituted carbonate-hydroxyapatite have been analyzed by scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy to evaluate the modification of the surface roughness induced by treatment with these two different mouthwashes. The treatment with F--based mouthwash produces a ro...
متن کاملDetermination of efficacy of pre-procedural mouth rinsing in reducing aerosol contamination produced by ultrasonic scalers
The oral cavity is a unique environment which can provide an ideal medium for bacterial growth. Most of the procedures performed by dentist have the potential for creating contaminated aerosols and splatter which contains bacteria, fungi, protozoa and even blood borne viruses produced during dental operative procedures and thus promoting an increased risk of cross infection. In dentistry, the u...
